Deleting your data
Three ways, depending on how much you want gone. The first two are immediate and need nobody's help.
In force since .
1. Disconnect one social account
This is what most people arriving from a network's app settings want, and it is immediate.
In Socio Manager: sign in, go to Social Accounts, and delete the account from the list. Its stored access token is destroyed at that point and this service can no longer post to it or read anything from it.
From the network's own side, without signing in here at all — on Facebook, Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations, then remove this app. On Instagram the same control covers the linked professional account. Either way our access stops at once. Posts already published stay published; they belong to the account, not to us, and deleting them is done on the network.
2. Delete content you created
Posts, drafts, uploaded images and video, tags and templates can each be deleted from the interface. Deleted posts are held briefly so a mis-click can be undone, then go for good.
Deleting a post here does not delete it from the network it was published to. That is the network's copy and only you can remove it, from that network.
3. Erase everything
To have your account and everything in it removed, write to info@sociomanager.com from the email address on the account, and say that you want it deleted.
Sending it from the account's own address is how we know it is you. If you cannot, say so and we will find another way to check — we would rather be slow than delete the wrong person's work.
What gets removed
- Your user record: name, email address and password hash.
- Every connected social account and its stored access tokens.
- Posts, drafts, scheduled items and their version history.
- Uploaded images and video.
- Imported metrics and audience figures for your connected accounts.
- Tags, templates, hashtag groups, variables, feeds and rules.
- The notification address of any phone where you used the Socio Manager app.
What does not, and why
- Posts already published. They live on the network and belong to the account. Delete them there.
- A shared workspace's content, if other people are still using it. Removing you removes your membership; the workspace and its posts belong to it rather than to you. Ask for the whole workspace to be deleted if that is what you mean, and we will confirm with its other members first.
- Backups, immediately. Backups exist so that a failure does not destroy everybody's work, and they are not edited. Your data disappears from them as they age out on their own rotation; nothing is restored from a backup into the live service to bring it back.
- The apps' usage measurements and crash reports, held for us by Google. They are not linked to your account, so they cannot be picked out by your name; they expire on their own — usage after two months, crash reports after 90 days.
- Records we are required to keep, where the law says so. We will tell you if that applies to anything of yours.
How long it takes
We aim to confirm the request within a few days and to complete it within 30 days. You will get a message when it is done.
4. If you only want a copy
Ask at the same address and we will put together what we hold about you. There is no self-service export button yet; this is a person assembling it, so give us a little longer than a click would take.
